OK Mrs Brown has taken a new direction

Paddington returns to Peru to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now lives at the Home for Retired Bears. The Brown family is set on an exciting adventure as a mystery takes them on an unexpected journey. Paul King, the director of the previous two films, has decided not to direct this installment. However, he came up with the idea for this third film and was involved as an executive producer. Appeared in Graham Norton and guests: Billy Crystal/Emily Mortimer/Hugh Bonneville/Pharrell Williams/Michael Kiwanuka (2024).

For a few minutes I thought oh no!!

For those who don’t know, previous incumbent Sally Hawkins said it was time to move on. I tried to warm up to her, but to me Emily Mortimer is just a senior product of the London School of Lovely girls. I know the show has progressed, but Emily’s opening moves are annoyingly flat and uninspired. I tried hard to warm up to her, she moved on strangely later in the film…the least they could have done is give her a meaningful script, she seemed like too little a wife who doesn’t say much. Sorry Em!

Let’s be fair

Same to Madeleine Harris who plays Judy, great lines next time, maybe both. She may have tried to be Sally Hawkins at some point, I’m not sure, but she had big boots to fill and Sally was a roaring success. They all performed their roles very well in the end. So anyway, the dear Peruvian finds their initiative this time and helps out family members. This journey takes Lahndan’s art around the world.

Forget it if you have healthy phobias of certain creatures (not snakes)

A family member is in trouble and the oldest madness and deadly sin is the cause of all evil. The scenery in the faraway place is stunning, simply stunning, it inspires me to go there, as does London which is darkly happy. there’s a lot of hilarity in the film, action and tears too, but very young children who aren’t very brave will find the show not so warm-hearted, scary, sometimes I thought so. Visually it’s just as fantastic as the previous films, although the script is flat and a bit predictable at some points, the mysteries revealed were simple enough for a five year old to figure out…aha…the target audience. Haha…that doesn’t take away from the CGI effect of the film and one particularly ear-splitting one.

I’m just saying, I don’t think it’s the end

Bonneville seems to have had a hair transplant, I’m not sure, but he’s always given a great performance, as have Walters and some of the wonderful newcomers to the story. Hey…the enchanting character from the last film makes an appearance.
